Quality Control Operator

Location: Van Wert - Ohio

Misson

Ensure that products and processes meet quality standards and customer specifications by conducting inspections, tests, and monitoring production processes. Support continuous improvement efforts to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities

Product and Process Inspections

· Perform visual and dimensional inspections on products from all production processes to ensure compliance with specifications.

· Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify product dimensions.

· Identify and report defects, deviations, or inconsistencies in materials and products across all processes.

Testing and Analysis:

· Conduct physical and chemical tests on materials and products as required by quality standards.

· Document and analyze test results for all production processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

· Report non-conformities and assist in root cause analysis to address quality issues.

Process Monitoring

· Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality control procedures and standards.

· Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality-related issues in real-time.

· Provide feedback on process improvements to enhance product quality and reduce waste.

Documentation and Reporting

· Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality control activities for all processes.

· Prepare and submit quality reports to supervisors and management.

· Ensure compliance with regulatory and company documentation requirements.

Equipment Maintenance and Calibration

· Ensure quality control equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.

· Report and coordinate repairs or replacements for faulty equipment.

Safety and Compliance

· Adhere to all safety protocols and quality management system requirements.

· Participate in regular safety and quality training programs.

· Ensure that products and processes comply with food safety requirements and applicable standards or other relevant guidelines.

Collaboration and Communication

· Work closely with production teams to achieve quality and production goals.

· Communicate quality issues clearly and effectively to relevant stakeholders.

· Provide input during team meetings to address and resolve quality challenges.

· Strong attention to detail to identify and address quality issues.

· Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, team members and supervisors.

· Problem-solving mindset to resolve quality concerns efficiently.

· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Technical Skills:

· Proficiency in using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

· Familiarity with quality control procedures and industry standards.

· Basic knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and quality analysis tools.

· Experience with quality management systems and documentation.

· Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.

 

Candidate Requirements

· High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in quality control or manufacturing is a plus.

· Previous experience in quality control roles within production processes preferred.

· Physical ability to handle materials during inspections and stand for extended periods.

· Capability to work in shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.
