Logistics Supervisor

Location: Van Wert - Ohio

Misson

Lead the internal logistics team, ensuring the efficient movement of materials and products within the industrial unit, including the preparation and loading of goods for dispatch, while promoting organization, safety, and adherence to production and delivery deadlines.

 

Key Responsibilities

Team Coordination

· Supervise and motivate the internal logistics team, ensuring productivity and achievement of goals.

· Ensure continuous development of team members through knowledge sharing and training.

Management of Internal Processes

· Plan and monitor the movement of materials and products between different areas of the unit.

· Ensure proper resource allocation to support production and shipping needs.

Control and Optimization of Flows

· Implement continuous improvements in internal logistics processes to reduce downtime and waste.

· Track key performance indicators (KPIs), such as lead times, inventory accuracy, and others.

Warehouse and Inventory Management

· Oversee the organization, storage, and control of stock in internal storage areas.

· Supervise the preparation and loading of goods for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and compliance with delivery schedules.

· Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality, and best practices.

Equipment and Infrastructure Management:

· Guarantee the good condition of load-handling equipment and the infrastructure where the team operates.

· Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure timely repairs and servicing of equipment.

· Identify and report any infrastructure issues that may impact logistics operations.

Collaboration with Other Departments

· Work closely with the Production, Planning, and Transport teams to ensure an efficient flow of materials.

· Act as a point of contact for resolving internal logistics issues.

· Experience in loading and dispatch operations, including compliance with shipping documentation and schedules.

· Ability to analyze KPIs and implement corrective actions to optimize performance.

· Basic understanding of lean methodologies or process improvement tools (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma).

 

Candidate Requirements

· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in internal logistics or similar roles in an industrial environment.

· Experience in leading and managing teams.

· Knowledge of logistics and inventory management tools

· Familiarity with material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) and related safety practices.

· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks based on operational needs.
