Intraplás officially announces the start of operations at its first industrial facility in the United States, in Van Wert (Ohio)

 

Santo Tirso, November 2025 – Intraplás officially announces the opening of its new industrial facility in Van Wert, Ohio (USA), an initial investment of approximately €40 million that marks a historic moment in the Group’s global expansion.

This achievement signals the beginning of a new strategic cycle for Intraplás: consolidating its presence in the United States, strengthening proximity to North American customers, and affirming itself as a global player in sustainable packaging solutions for dairy, plant-based and dessert applications.

The Van Wert facility is now fully operational, following the successful completion of installation, technical start-up, and all regulatory compliance validations required for the U.S. food packaging market, including FDA and Ohio Department of Agriculture (IMS) certifications.

In the spring of 2026, together with our teams, customers, business partners and Portuguese and U.S. official entities, Intraplás will host the official inauguration ceremony of the Van Wert facility — a moment to celebrate the collective journey that made this milestone possible.
