Industrial Maintenance Electrician

Location: Van Wert - Ohio

Misson

Ensure the optimal functioning and safety of industrial electrical systems and infrastructures by performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. Contribute to the continuous improvement of operational efficiency and compliance with safety and quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance and Repair

· Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and facility infrastructures (e.g., lighting, power distribution, HVAC, and security systems).

· Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in equipment and infrastructure components, such as wiring, panels, and power systems.

· Install, test, and commission new electrical systems and infrastructure upgrades.

· Maintain and repair electrical components of industrial machinery, such as PLCs, inverters, and sensors.

Infrastructure Maintenance:

· Monitor and maintain electrical components of building infrastructure, including lighting systems, energy distribution panels, and backup power supplies.

· Collaborate with facility management to address infrastructure-related electrical needs.

Production Support

· Assist production teams in auxiliary tasks as required, such as operating grinders, winders, or packaging equipment.

· Step in during high-demand periods, staff absences, or other situations to ensure continuous production operations.

Safety and Compliance

· Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, and company safety protocols during all electrical work.

· Conduct safety inspections of electrical installations and equipment to mitigate risks.

· Participate in regular safety training and promote a safe working environment.

Documentation and Record-Keeping

· Maintain accurate records of all electrical and infrastructure maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and part replacements.

· Update technical documentation, including wiring diagrams and schematics.

Collaboration and Communication

· Work closely with production teams to ensure seamless operation of infrastructure and equipment.

· Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues regarding electrical systems.

· Escalate critical electrical or infrastructure issues to supervisors promptly.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

· Identify opportunities to improve electrical system efficiency through upgrades or innovative solutions.

· Participate in the planning and execution of energy-saving initiatives.

Training and Development

· Provide on-the-job training for junior maintenance staff as required.

· Stay updated with advancements in maintenance technologies and best practices.

Monitoring and KPIs

· Monitor equipment and infrastructure performance and contribute to achieving maintenance-related KPIs, such as equipment uptime and repair response times.

· Proficiency in using diagnostic tools like multimeters and oscilloscopes.

· Familiarity with low and medium voltage systems.

 

Candidate Requirements

Educational Background:

· Technical degree or vocational training in electrical engineering, industrial electricity, or a related field.

Experience:

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance.

· Experience working with PLCs, automation systems, industrial machinery and facility management issues.

 

Skills and Knowledge:

· Proficiency in maintaining, installing, and repairing industrial electrical systems, including control panels, motors, and power distribution boards.

· Knowledge of maintaining building infrastructures such as lighting, HVAC systems, backup power (UPS, generators), and facility electrical installations.

· Ability to identify and resolve electrical issues using multimeters, continuity testers, and diagnostic software.

· Experience with automation systems, including PLCs, sensors, actuators, and industrial communication protocols.

· Skill in interpreting electrical diagrams, facility blueprints, and circuit schematics.

· Up-to-date knowledge of regulations such as NEC, OSHA, and other standards related to electrical safety and industrial maintenance.

· Familiarity with energy efficiency practices and energy monitoring systems.

· Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

· Understanding of mechanical systems that interact with electrical components, such as motors or pumps.

· (optional): Capability to perform electrical welding on components if required.
